2022 NFL Preview and Predictions

AFC East

Bills 13-4 *

Patriots 10-7 *

Dolphins 9-8

Jets 5-12

The Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL and should easily win this division. The Patriots are still trying to work things out but with Bill Belichick at the helm, I believe the Patriots will figure it out on offense, go on a run come mid-season and make the playoffs. Tua just isn't going to cut it, the high expectations for the Dolphins don't come to fruition.

AFC North

Ravens 11-6 *

Bengals 9-8

Browns 7-10

Steelers 6-11

The Ravens enter the season healthy unlike last season and should have a bounce back season. The Super Bowl losers hangover is real and it will effect the Bengals this season, they will come back to earth and miss the playoffs. The Browns might be a factor in 2023 when Deshaun Watson plays every game but with him out 11 games, they will be a non-factor in 2022.

AFC South

Colts 10-7 *

Titans 9-8

Jaguars 7-10

Texans 3-14

The Colts add Matt Ryan and while Ryan is no longer in his prime, he is a major upgrade at QB and should get the Colts to the playoffs. The Titans lost too much this offseason and Tannehill could revert to his Dolphins form at any minute. The Jaguars will be much improved, they are a team to watch in 2023.

AFC West

Chargers 12-5 *

Raiders 11-6 *

Chiefs 10-7 *

Broncos 9-8

The Chargers are loaded and ready to bust out. Only question is the coach but arguably the best roster in the NFL should overcome average coaching. The Raiders should be one of the best offenses in the NFL, I'm just not sure how good their defense will be but the offense will win them a lot of games and get them into the dance. The Chiefs are no longer the dominant team they were a few years ago but they are still playoff caliber. Russell Wilson couldn't make the playoffs in Seattle last year with great receivers and a good coach. Not sure how he'll do much better in Denver.

AFC Playoffs

  1. Bills

  2. Chargers

  3. Ravens

  4. Colts

  5. Raiders

  6. Chiefs

  7. Patriots

AFC Wildcard

Chargers over Patriots

Chiefs over Ravens

Raiders over Colts

AFC Divisional

Bills over Chiefs

Chargers over Raiders

AFC Championship

Chargers over Bills

The Bills will get past the Chiefs this year but will follow it up with a huge letdown at home in the AFC Championship game, getting upset by the Chargers. Justin Herbert out duels Josh Allen and LA pull away late. Chargers win 38-24.

NFC East

Eagles 12-5 *

Cowboys 10-7 *

Commanders 7-10

Giants 6-11

The Eagles added weapons around Jalen Hurts and should be much improved. They made the playoffs last year so there's no reason to believe they won't be back. You could predict Dallas to win 12, 13, 14 games every season with the talent on that roster but they never seem to live up to potential. They should be better than 10-7 but that's what they will go and just barely sneak into the playoffs.

NFC North

Packers 13-4 *

Vikings 10-7

Lions 9-8

Bears 4-13

The Packers have a great defense, best they've had in years. They also still have Aaron Rodgers. I'm not too worried about their WR position, someone will break out and the Packers will roll in this division. The Lions will have a winning record but that doesn't mean they are necessarily headed in the right direction.

NFC South

Saints 11-6 *

Buccaneers 10-7 *

Panthers 6-11

Falcons 5-12

I don't think Tom Brady is all in on this season and it's going to cost the Buccaneers. They have enough talent to make the playoffs but they won't be nearly as good. The Saints beat the Bucs twice last year, they'll do it again this year on their way to taking the division.

NFC West

Rams 11-6 *

49ers 10-7 *

Cardinals 9-8

Seahawks 3-14

The Rams won't be as good as last year but they still have enough talent and good coaching to win this division. I love everything about the 49ers except for their QB. They might be the most talented team in the NFL but I'm not sold on the QB. Minus the Texans, the Seahawks might be the worst team in the NFL.

NFC Playoffs

  1. Packers

  2. Eagles

  3. Saints

  4. Rams

  5. Cowboys

  6. 49ers

  7. Buccaneers

NFC Wildcard

Eagles over Buccaneers

Saints over 49ers

Cowboys over Rams

NFC Divisional

Packers over Cowboys

Eagles over Saints

NFC Championship

Packers over Eagles

The Packers finally get past the NFC Championship game after four straight losses in this game. The Eagles will give them a game and could most definitely make it five straight losses but Rodgers will lead a fourth quarter touchdown drive to win the game. Packers win 28-27.

Super Bowl LVII

Los Angeles Chargers over Green Bay Packers

Super Bowl MVP: Justin Herbert

I correctly predicted the Rams winning the Super Bowl last year, this year I'm going with the other LA team to hand Aaron Rodgers another bad postseason loss and win Super Bowl LVII. The Packers have a great defense but it won't be enough to slow down a loaded Chargers offense and I'm not sure Rodgers has the weapons to keep up. Chargers win 34-21.
