Nothing Butt Reviews Ma Rainey's Black Bottom

Ma Rainey's Black Bottom is a Netflix movie and the legend's Chadwick Bozeman's last movie filmed prior to his unfortunate death. Ma Rainey's is a period piece from the roaring 1920s about a band led by Viola Davis aka Ma Rainey, in a heavily segregated world. Davis as Ma Rainey is superb, she had quite the body transformation for this role and is my current favorite for an Oscar for her performance. She looks gross in this movie and I think that's how she wanted to portray her role. But the performance of the movie is Bozeman's, it is unbelievable, this man is on death's door and delivers a performance for the ages. He is a lock for Best Actor at the Oscars. Bozeman's character starts off as a pretty normal dude but boy does it turn quick. I don't want to spoil the movie too much, so just watch it. It officially has the Uncle Stevie must watch stamp. The end of the movie is a bit of a stunner so hang on to your britches.
