Nothing Butt Reviews One Night in Miami...

One night in Miami is another strong contender for the Oscars this year. A story of 4 icons in the 1960s, Muhammad Ali, Malcolm X, Sam Cooke, and Jim Brown, currently playing on the Zon Prime. It is an emotional time piece with some of the biggest legends of the 60s. The best performances are led by Kingsley Ben-Adir as Malcolm X and Leslie Odom Jr of Hamilton fame as Sam Cooke. The basis of the movie is these 4 guys go into a Miami hotel room after Ali's championship fight against Sonny Liston. Ali at the time was still going by Cassius Clay as he didn't fully a Muslim as of yet. This is a heavy dialogue and emotional movie that won't be for everyone, especially if that someone is used to exclusively watching Pixar movies and/or The Rock and Kevin Hart movies, but to a history buff and someone who wants to learn and understand the past more it is fantastic watch. This movie is directed by Regina King, only one woman has won an Oscar for Best Director. King should be the second.
