Nothing Butt Reviews: The Golden Globe Winners

Updated: Mar 3, 2021

Apparently the Golden Globes were last night. I didn't know this and I didn't even watch, kind of snuck up on me I guess. After I ate my Papa Gina's steak & cheese sub, I popped a 3Chi eddie http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-3chi-eddies and started watching The Morning Show on the Ap+, and well was watching from the moon.

As you all know I've been crushing movies this year. I've been all over most of the top dawg movies this year if you will. I have corrected predicted 84% winners of the Oscar dating back 5 years, so yea you could call me an expert. So I would like to apologize to all the CSBS fans out there that I missed a Golden Globe prediction blog, even though I would have probably hit around 90% if I had a done predictions. But I will make up for my faults by reviewing the winners and telling you what the Academy got wrong.

Best TV Series Drama- Winner The Crown. What should have won The Mandalorian. All these award shows love British period pieces, this is no different. This is a big miss by whomever votes. My brother loves this show so you know it stinks.

Best TV Series - Musical or Comedy. Winner Shits Creek. Who should have won? Ted Lasso. My brother likes Shits Creek, so that's how you know it isn't very good again. Ted Lasso was surprisingly good on Ap +. http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-ted-lasso

Best TV Limited Series or TV Movie. The winner, Queen's Gambit. Nailed it. Great show, great acting, even made chess somewhat cool.

Best Perform by an Actress TV Series Drama. The winner Emma Corrin - The Crown. Again with the British period drama bullshit shit. Who should have won? Laura Linney - Ozark. Great show and she is outstanding in it.

Best Perform by an Actor TV Series Drama. The winner Josh O'Connor - The Crown. Flavio Melo, enough with this crap. Who should have won? Bob Odenkirk - Better Call Saul.

Best Perform by an Actress TV Series Musical or Comedy. The Winner? The Mom from Home Alone - Shits Creek. Overrrated show my brother likes, enough said. Who should have won? Kaley Cuoco, The Flight Attendant. She was outstanding in that, and showed off her acting chops that weren't required in Big Bang. Sorry Roache.

Best Perform by an Actor in a TV Series Musical or Comedy. The winner? Jason Sudeikis - Ted Lasso. Nailed it! 100% the only choice really.

Best Perform by an Actress in TV Supporting Role. The Winner? Gillian Anderson from The X Files - The Crown. I am glad I didn't watch the globes. I would have been irrationally angry hanging on the moon. Who should have won? Julia Garner - Ozark.

Best Perform by an Actor in TV Supporting Role. The Winner? John Boyega - Small Axe. I didn't see any of these shows so the dude from Star Wars is fine by me.

Best Perform by an Actress Limited TV Series or TV Movie. The Winner? Anya Taylor-Joy - Queen's Gambit. Shoo-in the only choice here.

Best Perform by an Actor Limited TV Series or TV Movie. The Winner? The Hulk - I Know This Much is True. Good choice against a star studded lineup. Ruffalo beat out, Walter White, Harry Dunne, Huge Grant, and Jake from Training Day. WOW.

Best Motion Picture Drama - The Winner? Nomadland. This movie is on my list so I will wait until I have seen it to rip it or not. My choice would have been Promising Young Woman, http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-promising-young-woman

but that could change once I watch the winner.

Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy. The Winner? Borat. Record scratch, huh?? It was okay but not nearly as good as the first one. My choice would be Hamilton. I've watched that ten plus times and constantly listening to the wonderful soundtrack.

Best Director - Motion Picture. The Winner? Chloe Zhao - Nomadland. See above for my thoughts on Nomadland. I will delay my reaction until I watch the movie. I would have gone with Regina King - One Night in Miami but that could change. http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-one-night-in-miami

Best Perform by an Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. The Winner? Andra Day - The US vs Billie Holiday. Haven't seen it, probably won't. My choice Carey Mulligan - Promising Young Woman. She was simply outstanding in this movie.

Best Perform by an Actor Motion Picture Drama. The Winner? The late great, Chadwich Boseman - Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. The only choice, an outstanding performance and sadly his last. I had this one from the get go. RIP Chadwich http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-ma-rainey-s-black-bottom

Best Perform by an Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. The Winner? Rosamund Pike - I Care A Lot. Good choice, Pike is so good in a bitch role, smart bitch role, but a bitch role nonetheless. http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-i-care-a-lot-a-flix-joint

Best Perform by an Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy. The Winner? Borat for Borat. Weird choice again. But fine whatever, it was a weak category this year anyway.

Best Perform by an Actress in a Motion Picture Supporting Role The Winner? Jodie Foster - The Mauritanian. Haven't seen it or any of the other movies. Probably won't either.

Best Perform by an Actor in a Motion Picture Supporting Role The Winner? Daniel Kaluuya - Judas and the Black Messiah. Yup, this one is correct. He was outstanding in this movie. Hollywood loves when people put on or drop weight for a role. Only other one I'd put close is Odom Jr. But I am glad Kaluuya is finally getting some shine, he is one of the best actors going right now. Murders performances every movie he is in.

Best Movie Animated. The Winner? Soul. Correct, the only choice here really. Though Onward is on my list to watch. http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-soul-the-pixar-movie

Best Screenplay Movie. The Winner? Aaron Sorkin - The Trial of the Chicago 7. Fine choice. http://www.commshowbombshow.com/post/nothing-butt-reviews-the-trial-of-the-chicago-7

It's a classic Sorkin joint as I noted in the review, heavy on the dialogue. I would have went Emerald Fennell for Promising Young Woman as I enjoyed that movie more than Chicago 7.
