Nothing Butt Reviews: The Little Things
I'm a big fan of Denzel Washington, I used to say that every movie he was in was good. He's had a few more stinkers recently but still, I thought The Little Things would be pretty good.
I thought it'd be good too not only because of Denzel but because it also stared Rami Malek and Jared Leto. I mean that's a solid cast. So how was it? Not great.
I won't give you specifics for those who might still want to watch it even after reading this but what I can tell you is that it was dull, uninspiring, weird and incomplete.
The opening scene wasn't bad, gave the movie some promise but it feel off very quickly. There was not much excitement, no action, just flat-out boring. It makes you think a little bit but it wasn't edge of your seat suspense. There's strange scenes where Denzel has visions and flashbacks. You were waiting for some kind of twist and just never got it. It ends without any real answers, I felt like they just left story lines open and not open in a way where there will be a part two. It just wasn't a clean ending.
The only thing that prevents it from being a complete zero is the acting. Denzel, Rami and Leto are great actors and in The Little Things they were all pretty good. But if you replaced them with lesser actors, this movie has nothing to offer. The writing is lazy, the production is iffy at best. Just an overall disappointment.
