Review: Smash Burger (1st Trip)

So after living the ultimate hubby life for a few hours looking at refrigerators and stoves at Home Depot and Lowe’s, the Mrs. and I wanted to try something different while not going to a true sit down biz.

Enter Smash Burger. Never had it before but I will be going back.

I went classic as it was the first time there, I thought it was fitting to try their classic burger. The Classic Smash Double (minus tomatoes) was real good. Good crunch in the onion and pickles, I liked the amount of ketchup and mustard though some people may have thought it was too much. The bun was soft and delicious while the burger patties were good, not mind blowing.

I got the smash fries which were impressive. Never went crazy with any french fries but they throw rosemary, olive oil and some garlic on the regular french fries and I loved it. Not just because I was ridiculously hungry either. They had a nice kick at the end, not spicy or anything, just a little extra zest in them that really made it worth it. The sandwich became kinda messy but I was so hungry I just decided to crush it but on a normal night I could‘ve caused me to question this sandwiches motive.

My bride went big and got the single Smoked Bacon Brisket Burger with some sweet tater fries. The couple bites I had were wow. Smoked applewood bacon and beef brisket on a burger seems like it could be a bit much but this had a balance to it that really surprised me. Some bbq sauce and the brioche bun and I was sold. She grabbed the better of the two on this night. Also I’m not a sweet potato fry guy because they are usually a thick fry but they were thin cut here and it was pleasantly surprising.

Bomb Scores:

Smash Fries - 💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣💣
